About me: The world is too big, corrupt, and full of surprises. I enjoy observing it and want to DeToxiCate it with my thoughts.
Very common quote often stated by our parents:
"You’ll understand when you get older."
"No, I won’t."
The quote is the truth but it’s overstated and it doesn’t give young people good advice (I’m only 22 btw so young = 0 to 22). The truth is I’ve understood why my parents annoy me to do what they appreciate (FOR ME), but for me, even under that, I still have to wonder why didn’t you do it in a better way.
My dad works abroad, has temper tantrums and annoyed the living shit out of my family, and thinks he’s the boss. But he produces to provide for his family, that’s his goal. So yeah, I understand why he’s a shitty dad in certain respects. But why do you have to do this? Why don’t you focus on working AND thinking more about your kids rather than just working and producing abroad?
There could be a lot of back-and-forth thoughts on what and why my dad does it. But in the simple view, it’s just contradictory. And if the dad just has the view that money and production is more important than developing family time, my idea is you just haven’t done your job, especially when you started a family.
